EMTI reasserts its presence in all areas of interest to the community
Elite Management Training Institute (EMTI), the Abu Dhabi based leading educational institution in the provision of quality and distinguished training, has recently attended a lecture themed “The Strategic Dimensions of the Joint Arab Military Force Project” which was organized by Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research at Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Hall at the headquarters of the Center located in Abu Dhabi on the 3rd of August 2015.
Talking about a joint Arab military force means an Arab military cooperation in terms of strategic and operational concepts and integration of the investment of resources. From a historical perspective, the joint Arab military cooperation has emerged at the beginning of the fifties of the last century, but at limited stages and levels, including: military cooperation in 1948, military cooperation between 1948 and 1967, and military cooperation between 1967 and 1973. On the negative side, the joint Arab military cooperation has faced multiple dilemmas, including variance of political systems, strategic perceptions, multiplicity and diversity of threats, and military doctrines and strategies.
It is known that the idea of establishing a joint Arab military force was introduced as an Egyptian initiative during the twenty-sixth session of the Arab Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh during March 2015, to be capable of rapid intervention to face any threats to the Arab national security.¹
Hence emerged EMTI’s participation in this lecture to learn more about this issue and benefit the most from the thinking of the Honorable Major General (Retd.) Dr. Saleh Al-Mayteh was born in Jordan in 1953, and reached the rank of Major General during his service in the Jordanian Armed Forces. He participated in a number of strategic-level foreign military training courses, has published numerous articles and studies on leadership, management and strategic planning, and has participated in several conferences and seminars around the world.

Dr. Al-Mayteh has held several leadership and academic roles within Mutah University, including Head of the Training Department (military wing), Acting Dean of the Faculty of Military Sciences, and lecturer in public administration (military wing, 1994–2001). He also served as the Jordanian military attaché in Turkey from 2002 to 2005, and he has been a faculty member at the UAE National Defense College since 2012 heretofore.²
