The course focused on the correct pronunciation and the learning of the commonly preferred Emirati dialect
Elite Management Training Institute, the Abu Dhabi based leading educational institution in the provision of quality and distinguished training, has recently concluded a training course in the Emirati dialect for the non-native speakers of this dialect in its headquarters located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The course was launched under the slogan “Hayyakum Allah” which stems from EMTI’s noble message in spreading awareness and culture, and out of its keenness to acquaint those who reside on the land of our beloved Emirates with our customs, traditions, and dialect of which we are so proud and help them learn Arabic which is spoken by as many as 422 million speakers around the world¹ in addition to the focus on the Emirati dialect to facilitate local communication and also in pursuit of helping non-Arab residents communicate and integrate with the society.
The course witnessed a good turnout, where considerable numbers of trainees from various backgrounds and cultures, motivated by their desires to learn Arabic in an atmosphere of avail and professionalism on one hand and joy and fun on another hand, have taken it, which was obviously demonstrated in the comments made by some students who started to speak some Arabic words from the first day with an unparalleled enthusiasm, not to mention the atmosphere of fun and benefit that characterized the course all throughout its period, which was clearly demonstrated by the cheerful faces of the attendees who took advantage of each and every chance to speak Arabic with other persons to express their happiness to learn this language on one hand and share the new knowledge they gained and added to their language and human acquisition on another hand.
The course was conducted over six days, from March 31-April 01, 02, 07, 08 & 09, 2016 at a teaching rate of three hours a day, where the subjects taught to the participants ranged from an introduction to Arabic, the importance of learning Arabic phonetics and letters, and the frequently used vocabulary in everyday life to figures, in addition to Arabic history and culture of which we are so proud, not to mention the Emirati dialect that was well conserved by the Emirati people over the years as beautiful, preferred, and original as it is nowadays.
Mr. Mohamed Al-Saadi was the Course Instructor who gave this course owing to the extensive training and qualification experience he gained from working for several institutes in Syria and his long experience in the translation from and into Arabic and English as he was the Chairperson of ELTS Translation Department and holding the BA in English Literature from Damascus University.
The Instructor led his students during this course deeply inside the real Arabic language world, while they were full of enthusiasm and desire to learn and acquire the ability to speak and communicate in this Arab country, to say nothing of the lovely atmosphere that characterized this course aimed at adding fun to learning out of the necessity to love what you do to attain success.
The trainees receive at the end of the course a completion certificate certified by Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), the government body in charge of the licensing and supervision of training institutes.
