Training Description

Leadership is often an elusive characteristic within the procurement function. Western norms have created many managers, but few know how leadership differs, nor do they understand the power it can bring to a team.

The Procurement Leadership course is an initiative designed to enable council procurement staff from all over the State to work collectively towards furthering the role, performance and profile of procurement.

This course will equips you with the skills, knowledge and tools to lead procurement teams in both public and private organisations as well as bring the procurement agenda to the highest levels in your organisation.

Training Objectives

Each attendee who will complete this training will gain the following outcomes:-

  • Apply and gain a good working knowledge on Procurement Leadership.
  • Identify and implement the differences between management and leadership.
  • Use leadership power to effect the performance of the team.
  • Choose from a selection of leadership styles to suit differing situations.
  • Generate new levels of followership, motivating and inspiring team members.
  • Make decisions stick through an empowering approach to procurement decision making.
  • Face those difficult situations and people with a refreshed confidence.

This course intended for supervisors, managers and project leaders of procurement change.

Before the course

Each delegate will be asked to complete a Pre-Course Assessment Form to determine their current level and objectives for attending the course. The content of such Form will be used by the trainer only to give tailored training that is focused on each group of delegates.

At the end of the course

Each delegate will be asked to complete an Individual Development Plan and Vocational Completion Certificate.
